Magazine Front Cover Analysis 1

 




An edition of LifeBeyoundSport with Lewis Hamilton, a 7 times world champion in the widely known motorsport Formula 1. The masthead of the front cover is the name of the magazine that is in a large font at the top of the page. The colour scheme of the magazine consists of 3 colours that create a contrast of the main image of the driver with the background. The colours being black, yellowish grey and a dark grey. There are 3 different fonts with one for the masthead, a second one for the smaller cover lines and a third one for the main cover line. The main image is an image of Lewis Hamilton placed in the middle of the cover with no other supporting images as he is the focus of this edition. The cover lines give the reader an insight of what other articles is in the magazine, some being Tom Brady, Jose Mourinho, Daniel Gavins and others. The main cover line is a quote by the Lewis Hamilton, “I want to be the best driver there has ever been”. This shows us his objective as he aims for the top always and its shown with his record of more than 100 wins over his career. The front cover also follows rule of thirds, as there is no text in front of the artist and the cover lines are placed left, right and the bottom of the magazine. The primary audience of the magazine would be middle class to upper class men from the age of 40 upwards. They are people that live a luxurious life and are conservative. The secondary audience would be young people from the age of 15 years old that have an interest in the lifestyle of famous people and their work.
