Website Analysis 3
Elle
Elle is a
magazine that has women as their main and possibly most important target
audience. Starting with the header, at the left of it, we have the magazine, in
smaller font than usual. To the left of it, a button that opens a small tab on
the left, that allows you to search for a specific story you want to read about
and their main topics that you can choose from, like fashion, beauty, culture,
life and love, horoscopes. This is directed to their audience as they are
interested in those topics. At the opposite side on the header, Elle has a
subscribe button and a sign in button, meaning that you can create an account
on their website, and that having access to more personalised content directed
at you. The offer a multiple subscription plans, these being a digital only,
with unlimited access to the website, a print subscription to get the magazine
delivered to you, and an all access that gives you unlimited access to the
website and print subscription with a special offer price. The colours used are
black, white and grey, keeping a simple and clean look to the website. There
are about 5-6 fonts used throughout the website, almost in every text but with
some using a grey colour. Different of other
magazine websites, Elle does not have top stories at the top of their page but
rather just a story that seems more relevant because the story is about someone
the readers might know. The adverts present on the website are related to the
content of it, this being a way of encouraging readers to buy those products as
they are things the target audience likes. With their social media followers
combined they reach more than 10M followers. Their videos on YouTube reaches
hundred thousand views with some surpassing millions. This is a way of creating
an active audience encouraging interaction between readers.
